Houzez v.1.6.4 – The Latest Houzez Update
Here we go with some new features and improvements on Houzez v.1.6.4. This update looks small but, in reality, includes big things that you will appreciate for sure. The reason is simple. Some of them will impact the way you do your business, manage budgets, get revenue and generate leads.
Google Maps API
We’ve made considerable changes to the code that manages Google Maps API. As you may know, Google Maps API is no more free. Besides that, our goal was to minimize the number of requests to Google Maps APIs to minimize service costs as much as possible. Finally, after many days developing different ideas, we are proud to tell you that we have succeeded.
To give you a simple example, we use the same API key for all 16 Houzez demos that receive thousands of total monthly visits. Well, our budget today is much lower than the $200 free credit that Google Maps offers to its users.
Total budget -100% after we started to test the new Houzez code in September.
Price Pin Markers For Google Map Properties
We also created a new feature where you can enable price pins as markers (see here https://houzez15.favethemes.com/map/) for Google Map properties, in addition Google Maps has been improved also for mobile users. Now is possible to navigate and move the maps using two fingers.
Property Availability Calendar
Using the WP Booking Calendar plugin you can insert a calendar in each property page from where your customers can check the availability of the property. This functionality is available with the free version of WP Booking Calendar. If any of you want to experience the booking features that the plugin offers, you will need to purchase the premium version.
New Demo – Leads Generation
This demo has been designed to show you how Houzez is flexible and able to accommodate forms to generate leads. All the multistep forms have been created using Gravity Forms that it’s required in order to have this demo fully functional.
New Demo – IDX/MLS iHomeFinder
This demo has been designed using Houzez and Optima Express IDX Plugin from iHomefinderto display MLS listings. IDX is an industry standard that enables a real estate professional to display all of an MLS’s property listings on their website, provided they in turn permit other MLS members to display their listings.
About Premium Plugins
The license key for the premium plugins above (WP Booking Calendar, Gravity Forms or iHomeFinder) won’t be included if you buy or update Houzez, but it requires to be purchased separately.
Please note: We don’t receive any commission if you choose to buy one of the premium plugins listed above (WP Booking Calendar, Gravity Forms or iHomeFinder). Our recommendations are based on the quality of the products and are not based on any compensation.

Updating Houzez to the Latest Version
Updating your theme to the latest new version is not at all difficult, therefore there are two ways to do so.
- FTP update
- WordPress update
Most important, before updating you should check our update notes, backup your files to ensure you can revert to the previous state should something go wrong, delete older copies of the theme, and reset the cache once you have updated.
Each of these methods involves an easily-followed series of steps as specified in this installation article.
